The temps finally start dropping in mid-September (hopefully), and everything I love about fall in Oklahoma City starts to line up. Pumpkins downtown. Football on Fridays. Coffee shops rolling out seasonal menus. A road trip east when I need the leaves to change.

Pumpkinville at Myriad Botanical Gardens
Every October, the Children's Garden at Myriad Botanical Gardens turns into a full-on fall festival with tens of thousands of pumpkins, gourds, and photo ops. It sits right in the middle of downtown Oklahoma City at 301 W. Reno, so you can easily pair it with lunch or a walk around Scissortail Park. It is the kind of place that makes you slow down and actually feel the season.
A Saturday in Downtown Edmond
If you have never spent a Saturday morning wandering downtown Edmond, put it on the list. Shops, coffee, breakfast, and the kind of walkable stretch that feels like a small town inside the OKC metro. Fall is when it feels the most inviting.
Vacca Coffeehouse in Yukon and Wild Hero in Mustang
Both of these do a great job with seasonal menus. Vacca in Yukon has been a local favorite for years. Wild Hero over in Mustang, at 331 N. Mustang Road, is a mother-daughter run shop with a rustic feel and drinks worth driving for. I am in and out of both cities all week for work, which is why they made the guide.
Friday Night Football
Nothing else in Oklahoma quite captures fall like a Friday night high school game. Stadium lights, marching band, concession stand food, the whole thing. It is one of the best parts of the season around here.
And a Fall Road Trip
