In 2024, I received a message from someone who had read my blog post about tornadoes in Oklahoma. That one post opened the door to a life-changing conversation—a family in California was considering a major move to Oklahoma City.
We hopped on a call, talked about their hopes and plans, and set up a home search tailored to their needs. Though they weren’t quite ready to visit in person (they were preparing to sell their California home), we stayed in touch with regular updates and conversations about what they were looking for in their next chapter.
A few months later, they made their first visit to OKC—and fell in love. They’d already found a new church and school, and the trip gave me an even clearer understanding of the kind of home they truly wanted. We didn’t find “the one” during that visit, but we were close.
While I was away on a family trip in Arkansas, a home they loved came back on the market. My amazing teammate Lacie Elizabeth (@lacieelizabethrealtor) stepped in immediately for a virtual showing. They were thrilled, and by the time I returned to town and saw it in person, I could confirm it checked all the boxes.
We submitted an offer and negotiated $15,000 off the purchase price! To top it off, I connected them with a trusted contractor to help with a few custom touches to make the house feel like home.
Now, they’re happily settled in Oklahoma City—making memories, building community, and watching their new home come to life.
