I’ll be honest—Oklahoma gets a bad rap. It always has. I used to visit my grandparents in Ohio, and kids would ask if I rode a horse to school. (Honestly, that would be amazing…)
But what they don’t realize is that there’s so much to love about living in Oklahoma. Here are 5 reasons why I love calling it home:
1. Oklahoma is beautiful.
We may not have oceans or mountains, but this place is gorgeous in its own way. You can’t beat an Oklahoma sunset, and there’s just something about that perfect breeze on a walk. Plus, local vacation spots in the state have been growing in popularity—especially among out-of-state visitors!
2. Oklahoma is affordable.
I love to travel, but I also love coming back to Oklahoma prices—whether it’s for dinner, drinks, or buying a home. Our affordability is truly elite.
3. Oklahoma has an amazing food scene.
OKC is packed with fantastic restaurants! I recently ate at a well-known spot in Dallas, but honestly, I preferred the comparable OKC version more.
4. Oklahoma feels like home.
The people here are welcoming, kind, and genuine. When my grandma visited from Ohio, she was shocked that strangers waved at her. 😅 I moved to a new town and instantly felt at home because of how warm the community is.
5. Travel is easy here.
Will Rogers Airport is the best—quick, efficient, and stress-free. I once had just 45 minutes from parking to departure, and I made it! And for road trips? We’re perfectly positioned for getaways to Colorado, Santa Fe, Dallas, Austin, and more. Plus, traffic here is nothing like those big cities.
Thinking of making the move? Reach out to me! I've helped so many people make a smooth transition to the Oklahoma City area and let me do the same for you. One thing I can say for sure: my clients who have moved here from out of state absolutely love living in Oklahoma.
